1.What is the initial statement of IAMM (mission)?
To give people better understanding about Islam.

This trip makes me understand Islam a little much better, from the culture influence (China, Arab). It's very interesting to look and feel the artifacts from the olden days of Islam, rather than looking at it from pictures.
3. Emotional reaction considerations
The building actually gave me a very relaxing feeling. I like it how they keep their place simple and clean. The sun shrine coming from the huge windows
Categorization of things. Kind of scattered around.
For eg: A small part of Jewelry is suddenly in a floor lower than the original placement of Jewelry section.
4. Which part of the culture / lifestyle / practice makes you curious the most? Why?
China made me curious the most. In a culture of almost all Buddhist community, how did Islam made their way into China and the invasion culture of China affected onto the Islam items, like the ceramics we've seen in the museum and etc.
Other than that, the patterns on the textile actually makes me interested.
The floral and geometric patterns, plus the colours. Make very nice combinations.
Different types of textiles I've seen in the museum:

-Kashmiri Shawls
and etc.

I find the domes of the mosques and their calligraphy a sign of impression towards Islamic Art.

Q1: How did the invasion of Islam happen in China? Did it affect the culture of China at most?
Q2: Why did they not use something other than floral patterns on their textiles?
Q3. Why are the geometric forms so widely use in designs?
